Members' Regatta 24th-25th April
CCYC kicked off the Sailing Calendar with a members racing and BBQ weekend. The weather gods dictated Saturday, which was abandoned. Unfortunate with a strong easterly, cold wind and cold sea, it was a prudent decision in the circumstances. The shore team rallied round with a full club, amazingly the Easterly rose above the club and a little microclimate formed.
Although still somewhat windy on Sunday morning, the breeze was not due to build, so 4 yachts braved the chill and started. Our volunteer Race Officer, Rosy set a cunning little course which challenged everyone in some way with a long beat against the tide to Ryde Middle Bank, a fast run with tide to Bramble Bank, back up to West Ryde Middle , and fast run home via CCYC Bouy. Just over 1.5 hrs. It certainly tested a few muscles. !
We finished on corrected time in the same finishing order. La Vie en Rose II, beating Ffervida by 11 seconds, followed closely by Crackerjax, with Emoyeni 4th.
