About Us

The Club has excellent facilities both on the water and ashore. These facilities as well as being available to members are available for functions, regattas, events and private hire.

We are small and friendly and not at all posh, but we can do pretty much all that you might expect from a yacht club here in Cowes, and more than some of the others!

On the sailing front our members cruise and race a variety of boats both here in Cowes and also further afield with some success. We have a small marina (with a waiting list for berths), dry storage for boats up to about Sonar size, 2 cranes for launch and recovery, and hoists for those sailors who are less able. The showers and toilets are open daily for use by berth holders and visiting sailors.

Berthing

The Bosun is in charge of the site and the marina, aided by members of the site committee. Work around the site is carried out by professional contractors where appropriate, but mostly by the site committee and volunteers who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience, and who have to tackle everything no matter how mundane. Help is always welcome.

Rates and charges are set annually in November/ December for the following calendar year.

Crane & Dry Sailing

Members can also apply to keep their boat on the site Apron, using the cranes to launch and lift as required. Boats that are dry sailed may only berth in the marina by prior arrangement with the Bosun and is subject to availability of space. A dry sailing package for boats up to 28ft for 12 months includes unlimited use of the crane and pressure washer. Boats must be on fully functioning trailers.

Race Management

Cowes Corinthian has achieved an enviable reputation for running racing, both for our Members and for outside organisations.  Within the Club, we run the Forts Race and several Members' Regattas each year, while competitive classes like Etchells, Flying Fifteens and X One-Designs rely on our professional race management for their events.  Then for sheer joy of sailing, there are Cowes Spring Classics and Old Gaffers.
