Isle of Wight
There is a regular cruising contingent amongst the membership, both motorboats, large and small as well as cruising yachts. Rallies are organised on an ad hoc basis and many members participate in the rallies run by the Medina Mariners Association and other Cowes based yacht clubs
The Club is home to around twelve pleasure angling boats which vary in size from 14ft - 23ft in length, these are used on a regular basis throughout the year. Some boats stay fairly local within the Solent and others travel further afield to areas around the Needles or the Nab Tower.
We all share the same interest of targeting a wide range of different species of fish that can be caught around the island at different times of the year. Local waters around the Solent are home to a large number of species including Bass, Cod, Skate, Smoothhound, Plaice, Sole, Whiting, Dogfish and Pouting and can be found on or around the many sand banks and ledges for which the Solent is well renowned.
There have been many early mornings and late evenings had by all the anglers that use the Club and have done for a number of years and the new facilities provide a warm welcome upon our return after a long day on the water.
If you are interested in cruising or fishing and would like to take part - please contact the Club Secretary in the Office
