Lucy Hodges who trains at the CCYC using the ACF Sonar won the Blind World Championships last year and has been awarded for her success and work with the blind with an MBE, very well done Lucy.
'Blind Sailing from the age of 17 has made me what I am today and helped me achieve many goals in life in work and sailing. Looking back so many people have been part of this and one key member of CCYC has been Andy Cassell and it was an honnor to be his and the clubs guest at the fitting out supper and to share my MBE which has been such a recognition along with the team winning the worlds.
Receiving my MBE on the 21 from the Prince of Wales was so special I have though out shared this award with the charities volunteers and it was great to share the stories about the people behind me whilst recieving this award.
I thank all for support the charity and me. Special thank you too to CCYC for becoming part of Blind Sailing'
